(More customer reviews)Of all the creature cars you can get from various manufacturers, Matchbox's Rhino Rod is easily the best of them all. This vehicle is so well detailed, with little bumps, and folds on the car to resemble the look of the skin of a real rhino. It's even got a mouth and nostrils. You can get Rhino Rod in a few colours depending on which year's release you track down. The one being sold on this page is black with grey windows, it's pretty good, I almost went with that colour but I decided to go with dark grey (see my customer images) as I thought the windows blended in a bit better. You can get these in light grey, and a number of different getting darker shades of grey. The lighter the colour you get the more detail you can make out. You can even get Rhino Rod in a white version to represent that elusive white rhino.
This Matchbox car doesn't have doors, but apart from that you can visualise this actually being made into a real sized car, although maybe the horns would make it unroadworthy due to obscuring vision. Rhino Rod rolls really well something a lot of creature cars don't. It has a big engine on the back and a giant bumper bar on the back, if I was being picky I'd say it would have been better without these additions. The ears look like real Rhino ears and although facing the wrong way to really be, give Rhino rod rear vision mirrors, something you never see on Matchbox, Hot Wheels, Johnny Lightning or other 1/64 sized die-cast vehicles. The horns are made of a slightly bendable plastic so if it rolls of your desk onto the floor or something it won't break.
It's a very nice vehicle, you should get one, you've just got to decide now on the colour. There's even a gold colour version too.
