SMITHSONIAN InAir E-Z Build - P51 Mustang Review

(More customer reviews)I picked this up for a 6-year old boy at the Andrew Air Force Base airshow. We were able to mostly assemble it sitting under a tree at the show, while waiting for the line for the buses to queue down. I say mostly because at one piece - part of the tail - was poorly cast and would not fit. The kit came with a small screw driver, so in theory no tools are needed. Once home, I was able to use a knife to make the one piece fit and later cut off a small piece of the landing gear so they better fold up into the wing. While the control surfaces do not move, the prop turns and the landing gear folds up and down. The instructions are drawings, there are no words. No painting or gluing was required.
But for that hassle, the boy plays and plays and plays with it. It has encouraged him to ask many questions about airplanes, how they work and how these planes were used. It has encouraged him to learn more about WWII and history. It has held up well under some pretty rough play.
Additionally, I love the look of the model. It just looks great and seems to be a very nice, for the price, scale model of the Mustang. It would certainly look good on a desk as well.
I would not hesitate to purchase it again.

1940's Batmobile Roadster with Figure Review

(More customer reviews)Not a toy for the young ones--really--this is for us old boomers who grew up with Batman in the 60s and 70s.
I love the Corgi line of Batmobiles. They represent a Batmobile from the entire Batman timeline: The red roadster from the late 30s and early 40s.
This roadster which came later; the 40s Batmobile with the Bat-head front; the 70s Batmobile and so on.
I don't recall a "Robin" car which they also sell but there could have been one and it's still cool. I'd really like to see them add The Robin Motorcycle from the mid-70's comic stories (see "Batman Family").
I love the detail on these cars. They are for display; probably even intended for adults like myself. Buy them and enjoy.

Gearbox Military Classics German Luftwaffe (Ground Dision) Helmet Review

(More customer reviews)I am a huge WWII buff and when I seen these I just had to pick them up! I have to say for the price I am very impressed with the miniature helmets. First they are solid metal helmets, they have a good weight to them and would be near impossible to damage. They are also fairly accurate to the real historical helmets, even down to the chin strap design and the webbing inside the helmet.
Really hope Gearbox expands this line and introduces new ones. Would love to see and buy ones from other periods/conflicts.

This large military transport aircraft from Lockheed Martin offers intercontinental strategic heavy airlift for the US Air Force, plus it has an in-flight refueling capability that extends its range even further. The Galaxy is easily identified by its size, its high wings and the distinctive T-tail. The 37m-long cargo compartment offers 880m³ of space, sufficient to carry items like M1 Abrams tanks or even bulky M60 AVLBs. The C-5 Galaxy entered service in 1969, and a total of 131 aircraft were built. The C-5B, the subject of this Warbirds item, is an upgraded version produced between 1986 and 1989. The C-5B featured improved wings and avionics, as well as upgraded TF-39-GE-1C turbofan engines. The 436th Airlift Wing based at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware operates some of the 50 C-5Bs that were built. Thus the markings on this 1/400 scale model depict this ?Eagle Wing? unit of the USAF?s Air Mobility Command (AMC). The C-5 and C-17 aircraft of the 436th Airlift Wing alone provide 25% of the USA?s intra-theater airlift capacity. The unit?s also ready to employ airdrop and special operations tactics. This model is impressive in size as well as in its inherent detail. The components are carefully engineered for accuracy and strength, while the markings are realistically rendered. Maisto Special Edition 1:24 2003 Dodge Viper SRT-10 Review

(More customer reviews)The Special Edition 2003 Dodge Viper is an excellent model of the real thing. It has features that are found on expensive car models that are from Danbury Mint, Franklin Mint, etc. Since my 7 year old grandson likes to "play" with those models, I bought a series of cars from Maistro at a very reasonable price, which I figured that he could play with. I was generally pleased, but they are not durable toys. The child still has to treat them gently. The wheel came off one of them in no time. These cars are more models than toys. They are however, fun to play with, and at the cost of each, it's not a disaster if a part comes off.

Johnny Lightning DC Comic Book 1960's Diecast 1/24 Batmobile Model Review

(More customer reviews)The reason this Batmobile does not resemble the one from the televison show in some respects is that it is based on the comic book, not the TV show. I am not sure if Playing Mantis has the license for the show or not, but I do know they have a Batplane model which was never in the show.
I have the '50s model and the '60s model, and both are fun to build and great to display.

(More customer reviews)This is the third NewRay diecast helicopter model we've bought, and it is just as good as the others - very detailed and realistic, and you can compare it to photos of the actual helicopter. This is more of a display model for adults than a kid's toy, though, and because it is so detailed, you have to be very careful about not breaking off any of the tiny parts.

(More customer reviews)My son, 17 months old, has become increasingly interested in trains so I bought him this one a few days ago. He hasn't put it down since. He constantly carries it wherever he goes and pitches a fit if you try to take it from him. He loves hearing the noises it makes either by using the button on top or pushing it all over the floor.
NOTE: The "Take Along Thomas & Friends" trains are not compatible with the standard wooden tracks. The wheels are smaller and the width between the wheels is much narrower to fit on the standard tracks. You can purchase track sets that do work with the "take along" trains, seperately. We purchased a track set and it's cute but I think it's a little too mature for my little one. He doesn't understand the concept of pushing the train around the track, yet. And the trains do tend to come off easily from the plastic track. Definitely, the age recommendation is correct for the train track sets - 3 years and older. But I think the trains are okay for younger toddlers as long as they are supervised in case one of the wheels were to come off.

The only issue is that with most knock off "legos" the pieces don't fit together super tight and a few fall off all the time. i would defintely buy it again though.
