We bought two of these (one for each of our twin boys) for Christmas. The item does not hold up well at all to even moderate/gentle play let alone what most 2 year old boys are capable of. The tool rack falls off almost every time they take a tool out. The yellow gate at top of ramp falls off, as does the entire car wash portion, but the most dissapointing feature is how difficult it is to operate the drill to make the elevator move. One of our garages isn't too difficult to operate the drill, but the other one even I can't push the button hard enough or at the correct angle to lower the platform, let alone a two year old trying to do it. It takes more than one rotation of the tool to "charge" the engine to make the car move forward which is difficult for a two year old to do. The toy is a great idea though. They love holding the little metal tools and like trying to use them on the cars to remove the car attachments. The comany just needs to rework this toy and make it sturdier.

My son LOVES these toys! I purchased them on Target clearance for one dollar and 90 some odd cents. What a deal! I went to several Target stores in the area and found different pieces for no more than three dollars.
My son is 2 ½ and has great dexterity to start with but these have taught him even more skills using the screw drivers, wrenches and other little tools that are included in the set.
My concern is that he could possibly fall on the metal tools and hurt himself but as of now he has been careful with them. I am also not overly pleased with the play sets but the trucks themselves are lots of fun. The play sets seem a little cheap but the die cast trucks are worth the money, so that to me makes up for the lack of imagination on the designers part.
He will sit and play with them for hours on end, mixing and matching the different parts to the different trucks. This purchase was well worth the money, I just wish I would have noticed them before now. This would make a great gift for toddlers.
