(More customer reviews)Normal replica models can cost hundreds, so though this guy is far below that price, it is still a very good replica model. (Note, there is nothing to assemble here. Just unpack it and display.) Searching for Mars Rover toys or models, I found very few available. Basically, its this one or one that costs $$$, it seems. Luckily, this replica is quite good and low cost. Very nice for display. Its not a toy to move around, and not for young kids. But anyone with an interest in Space and NASA, and have followed the real rovers on their amazing 4 yr mission will like this.

(More customer reviews)I was expecting the item would be larger. The actual rover is about 4" wide. I read somewhere it was close to 10", but that is only the plastic "lander" item, that features cheap pasted-on stickers as ramps. Yes, it has die-cast parts, but the small parts are plastic and not very well cast. I wouldn't have paid nearly $36, plus shipping, for it. I can't imagine what the other rover that sells here for almost twice the amount would look like. I would not recommend this item unless it is an absolute must for a collection or science class demo. Actually, the box is a lot more interestingly designed than the model. This Made in China model probably cost cents to produce. I was overall disappointed.
