This limited edition Batman: The Dark Knight Hot Wheels Elite Batmobile is a faithful reproduction from the record-shattering Batman sequel from director Christopher Nolan. In extraordinary 1:18 scale, the die-cast vehicle is loaded with movie-accurate details and primed for action on the streets of your collection! The BATMOBILE depicted in the film â??THE DARK KNIGHTâ?TM is a tank-like vehicle modified from a military vehicle called â??the Tumblerâ?TM. It appears twice in the movie and the filmâ?TMs production designer described it as a car boasting â??Lamborghini lines combined with tank functions: an armored riot control vehicle, complete with machine guns shooting rubber bullets and a large cannon mounted on the front.â? This is the largest Batmobile ever, easily straddling a three-lane highway. Four street-ready cars were constructed, with each vehicle possessing sixty-five carbon fiber panels and costing $250,000 to build. Two of the four cars were specialized versions. It's hard for little boy hands to not keep playing with this car and the miniature Batman that comes with it. It's been a blast in our house, and adds quite the fun factor to the car collection. Highly recommend!

Hot Wheels the Dark Knight Batmobile Tumbler Review

(More customer reviews)Ok, while I'm prepping for a horror run next month and I've been anxiously awaiting the announcement of "The Dark Knight" Dvd or Blu-ray--December 9, 2008 is the day we get to pick up the best super-hero film (in my opinion) on either Blu-ray or Dvd! I'll be taking the morning off!
Anyway, this replica of the "Thumbler" or the Batmobile featured on both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight is made by Hot Wheels. Nice craftsmanship, very detailed and made in die-cast.
The only complaint I may have is that it had some bright gold-colored parts that didn't look like the actual "Batmobile" in the film and it also has somewhat of a glossy finish...not in the film. It's also a little smaller than I would have wanted it to be.
Anyway, still a great collectible for the die-hard Batman fan!

Mattel Hot Wheels 1:50 Batman Begins Batmobile Review

I actually like the detailing on the 1:50 better than the 1:18.
The addition of Gold chromed exhaust tube and rear shocks really makes this Tumbler stand out.
These are very plentiful right now and the prices are rising, they are going from $4 to $20.
They are not worth $20........Today.
The black ones are already over $25 when you can find them.
That would indicate that the camouflage version will also reach a high demand point.
This is certain to become another high priced hard to find Hot Wheels Batman collectors item.
