1/14 R/C Yale Forklift Truck Review

(More customer reviews)The Yale Forklift Truck does what it says on the box, however I found the sticking of the mast a bit off putting if you are lowering things with no weight to them but I will attemp to resolve with a bit of grease. But by far the worst problem which is a design fault is that the pallets slide off the forks very easily, a problem that we have overcome by attaching small pieces of sand paper to the bottom of each pallet (Strapping your cargo to the pallets with rubber bands also does the trick)
But all in all Its a pretty good looking little truck

The one-directional turn feature is better than it sounds--the bus pivots on its center. It uses one button to go straight and one to pivot to the direction you want to go next.
It is a bit loud, but that is nothing a piece of scotch tape couldn't fix.

Even better, the remote controls are quick and responsive. I'm sure driving the real thing is much better, but for a 9 year old, it can't be beat. Durability wasn't tested much in a day or two of use, nor was the battery life. It's well made and should last.

(More customer reviews)The big difference between these cars and others in similar style and price is Die Cast. I thought they were kidding when I ordered one but to my delight, when I opened the box, there was a well tooled little replica of a red Ferrari. The pictures do it no justice - unlike the plastic toys from other manufacturers, this model is nice enough to sit on a display shelf.
I fired it up and found that it runs just fast enough to keep you on your toes through the kitchen, down the hall and back through the dining room. Two at different frequencies would provide some good racing. Bright white headlights come on when you're going forward - good for night racing - and red tail lights come on in reverse. Very cool.
Controls are basic as they are with all cars in this price range: Full speed or full turn, so you drive by letting off either for a moment, then back on. Charging is quick and the car goes for a good 6-10 minutes before it needs another.
Caution: Give the floor (track) a good dusting before you drive. If you roll over hair and dust and it gets wrapped around an axle, you'll have to unscrew the chassis from the body (easy to do) and pull the stuff off with tweezers. You will need a jeweler's sized Philips (not included).
Most fun I've had under $20 for a long time.

He says he thinks it's "really cool." He says he likes how it steers.
It is really fast!! and turns unbelievably like no car ever would or could!! I am absolutely amazed at the preciseness of the turning ability. You can be up so close you'd think you're going to crash and suddenly the Speedracer can turn to miss the crash. It really has to be seen to be believed. The speed also is amazing. The lights in front and back work. This RC car is satisfying in every way. Next, we are going to buy one of the opponent cars or Racer X so he has someone to race against. Thanks JADA!!

(More customer reviews)My 8 year old daughter chose this as the vehicle of choice for Iron Man to start dating Polly Pocket. They had a great time in the speedy red car until that fateful moment when they accidentally drove off the deck.
It was only the first day of use and total delight over the car quickly changed to despair. The car doesn't work right anymore. Even with new batteries the charge seems to fade away within about 10 seconds and the car loses power. Something went badly wrong went it fell about 4 feet off the deck into the dirt.
It's probably not the best car for a beginning driver though the speed makes it much more fun than the kiddie cars. The other thing, am I asking too much to think it should be built well enough to survive a 4 foot fall? Seriously, We've never had one of these in our house before but it seems like it ought to be a little more durable.
If the car had survived the first day of use I'd be happy to give it 5 stars but I really think it should be built with a little durability if it's a car that says it's for an 8 year old.
