(More customer reviews)I bought this Maisto 1:18 Ferrari F50 assembly line kit because it has become somewhat difficult to find a decent quality 1:18 Ferrari F50 at a reasonable price. That being said I've found this kit to contain more detail than my older Burago 1:18 Ferrari F40. For example the seats are painted so they have red seating surfaces with black trim. There are disc brake rotors hiding behind the wheels. However as the name implies this Miasto kit has to be assembled by the purchaser.
The included instructions are all picture based. There is no text so it may take a re-read or two to understand certain assembly steps. All in all the Maisto is less difficult to assemble than a typical plastic glue together car model. Total assembly time took about four hours but I was taking my time. Some sticker labels need to be applied such as the gauge cluster in the dashboard, the license plate and the shiny surfaces for the door and rear view mirrors. I only wish Maisto had not pre-applied the Ferrari badges and marque to the pre-painted metal body of the car. Who ever applied these stickers did not do a very careful job making sure the stickers were aligned properly. Of the four stickers pre-applied to the car body, I would only judge one of them to be decently lined up. It would have been so much better if the car body stickers came on their own sheet. This kit includes a set of silver wheels and a set of shiny chrome plated wheels. Also included is a small screw driver for use during assembly.
In the end this kit is an adequate likeness of the Ferrari F50 as long as you don't expect AutoArt level detail. Then again AutoArt 1:18 cars retail for over $100 per car these days. My first choice would have been a pre-assembled car but for the price of this kit I found it worth the minor inconvenience.
