(More customer reviews)I (Santa) bought this for my 7 year-old son because he asked for "a helicopter like Papa had on his ship in the Navy." This seemed appealing since it's already put together (mostly) and he could enjoy it without the frustration of having to assemble a model meant for more experienced hobbyists.
I will say that the model is small (fuselage is about 6" long) but very finely detailed and very accurate. The 6 blades come disassembled and have to be pushed on to some VERY small and delicate plastic pins which protrude from the rotor hubs.
After pushing on two of the blades, my son bumped one (gently) and it promptly fell right off onto the table. I continued pushing the blades on, and broke off two more pins in the process. My son was upset and slunk off with tears in his eyes.
I was able to file off the remaining stubs and used model cement to reattach the rotor blades (ALL OF THEM, EVENTUALLY), carefully propping each one up for a few hours until the cement had done its work.
So, it looks great now - but IT IS A DISPLAY MODEL, NOT A TOY and will not tolerate any handling by careless hands, whether they be a child's or an adult's.
