(More customer reviews)I purchased this toy as a gift for my nephew. He had all of the other Cars toys, and just needed Red to complete his set of main characters. I was very happy with the toy when I saw it. It was larger than the other cars, and so it was the perfect size. The paint looked good, and all in all I thought I had a winner.
The toy lasted about 4 days. The other Cars toys, from the main line, are built sturdy. While the paint may chip after play, the cars themselves didn't break. This Red, however, was different. The first thing to go was its wheels. Three of them broke off, the plastic snapping off of the thin metal axle. My nephew, having toy collectors all through the family, always played carefully with his toys. Red was no different, but the quality was so poor that it still broke immediately.
This toy would be great for an adult collector who wants to display it and never play with it. Its only value is in its appearance. As a toy, however, it is some of the poorest quality I have seen in a long time.
