Star Trek Movie Mattel 1:50 Scale Diecast Vehicle Klingon Bird of Prey Review

Star Trek Movie Mattel 1:50 Scale Diecast Vehicle Klingon Bird of Prey

This is a very nice model of the Klingon Bird of Prey. It is about 4 inches long with a 6 inch wing span and yes, the wings do move from Landing mode, to Flight mode and to Attack mode.
The body of the ship is mostly metal and the wings are plastic. The paint detail is pretty good for it's price range and the ship is large enough for someone with basic model-building skills to improve the paint detail.
I also like the ball joint on the stand because it lets you pose the ship at intersting angles.
Overall, a very nice toy, I just wish Mattel would release these ships at a faster rate and with more variety.

I loved this version of the Enterprise and wanted a model that reminded me of the battle between Kirk and Khan. This model is a great reminder of that famous movie battle.

Star Trek 40th Anniversary Klingon Bird Of Prey Diecast Ship By Corgi Review

Star Trek 40th Anniversary Klingon Bird Of Prey Diecast Ship By Corgi

If you read what this is supposed to do from Corgi or other websites let me set you straight.
1. There is no sound what-so-ever. Nothing, nada.
2. The lights, when the buton is pushed, blink exactly 19 times then shut off. That is all the product does. I have made several attempts to conact Corgi via their website and feedback and have never heard from them.

Hot Wheels Star Trek Romulan Narada Review

I've always tried my best to look for Star Trek Star Ships that I didn't have to put together and that were small enough to allow me to collect them with out being to much in the way. And HERE THEY ARE! I love these things. I pray Hot Wheels make mroe ships, different ships, every ship that has ever been on Star Trek programs and movies. All I want is to collect more and more. The toy is cool. Not to easy to break and they have an awsome stand were I can sit them on a shelf and not worry about them falling and smashing. Live Long And Collect these, they're AWSOME for the real fan!!!

Star Trek U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864 Die Cast Metal Ship with Display Stand Review

Star Trek U.S.S. Reliant NCC-1864 Die Cast Metal Ship with Display Stand
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Our first real prepainted Reliant model is here!
As you may have read in other reviews, this is NOT an all-die cast product. The top and sides of the saucer section is die cast, the nacelles and "rollbar" are plastic.
The entire toy is durable, there are NO mold problems that are apparent with the Playmates, Furuta/F-Toys or Galoob versions. Meaning the nacelles are straight and parallel. The only quirk is that the rear of the nacelles seems to be a seperate piece that was glued to them, so the nacelle exterior is not a solid mold, it seems they did this so they could install the blue warp coil.
The paint job is good, but not great. The paint on the metal parts is somewhat glossy, which contrasts the plastic parts that are flat. The two parallel rectangular sections on the top of the saucer are white, the same white as the rest of the saucer. The only glaring paint error, is that the starboard nacelle pylon has the starfleet insignia/red stripes/text reversed. It seems that it is a flipped reuse of the port side marking. The print is so tiny, it is virtually impossible to notice with the naked eye.
The biggest error is the display stand. As the model is mostly metal on the top/front, the model falls forward. There is no way around this, aside from gluing the stand to the model. Huge oversight on the part of Mattel. My guess is that the whole model was supposed to be metal when the stand was designed, the weight would have been distributed evenly then. The good news is, that it sits up fine on the nacelles, no tipping at all.
Great model though, definately worth the money. Buy this before it's discontinued and your only option is eBay.

Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Die-Cast LE with Light Review

Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Die-Cast LE with Light
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
After buying a Hot Wheels Enterprise refit model and discovering that it was misshapen (the saucer section was tilted to the left), I hopped onto Amazon to find an Enterprise model that actually had some quality standards. I was quickly directed to the Corgi die-cast U.S.S. Enterprise by user reviews.
This is a very high-quality model; the hull itself is all die-cast metal. The only plastic is located at the domes at the front and back of the nacelles, a few fins and projections on the nacelles, the deflector dish and the area immediately behind it, the top of the bridge, and the bottom of the saucer section. Nothing appears to be misaligned or misshapen. Although I wouldn't go dropping it on the floor or throwing it around, it appears to be very sturdy and no damage has occurred through regular handling since I received it.
In terms of staying true to the original design, there are a couple of minor issues. In the original Enterprise, the engineering section was essentially a cylinder that tapered off towards aft. In this model, the engineering section more closely resembles that of the refit Enterprise or the 1701-A, in that the cylinder is more streamlined and curves smaller towards the rear as opposed to being straight. Also, the clear plastic at the bridge takes the place of what would normally be a smaller dome. There may be more, but I haven't studied it or the original Enterprise closely enough to notice. None of these issues are really deal-breaking, and anything but the most hardcore of Trek fans shouldn't notice (even I had to research it a bit).
The stand is functional and relatively sturdy. The box the model comes in can be unfolded to display information about the Federation and the Enterprise, with a empty spot in the middle for the model to be placed. Pressing the button on the stand either shines the lights for about 6 seconds while it fades away, or fades the lights in and out every two seconds about 20 times. They're pretty pointless beyond the first couple of moments when you're still in awe of the model; it would make more sense to have the stand connect to an electrical outlet and allow the lights to be toggled on/off for permanent use.
Also keep in mind that this model is not painted, making it more of a collector's item and not a toy. If you're planning on getting something for a child, I suggest purchasing the Hot Wheels model I mentioned in the first paragraph: Hot Wheels Star Trek USS Enterprise NCC-1701. A child's not likely to notice the admittedly subtle manufacturing error, and the fact that it's made mostly of plastic means that it can likely be thrown or dropped without any damage.
This is finally a model worthy of the Enterprise name. It has a couple of minor flaws, but you'd be hard-pressed to find another product with as much sturdiness, detail and accuracy. If you're looking for a display model and not a toy, I urge you to pick this up right away.
