He's featured in a couple of videos and he's a good choice for a collection. Anything with a magnet crane is going to appeal, but Harvey combines the tool with a friendly Jay Leno-esque grin and happy demeanor.

(More customer reviews)This gift was a big hit for our grandson as he had been asking for these particular cars for months. Apparently, they had not been manufactured for a while.
Made of steel, they are able to take abuse from a toddler yet still are easy to maneuver. We expect they'll become heirlooms, along with other Thomas the Train cars. These kinds of toys help develop fine motor skills, encourage imaginary play, and hold up exceedingly well.

For the people that say this is no good except for decorations are people who probably do not purchase the take along set. Like the descriptions states, it only works with take along products, not the brio, wooden or any other thomas the train set. It only works with Thomas and friends take along products. For the people who do collect the take along products, this is a great product.

(More customer reviews)I bought these trains for my 4 year old son for Christmas. He loves any kind of cars or trains. I was a little disappointed because they are so small. Especially for the money. I have spent less for the bigger Thomas trains and they run on batteries and go. These don't do anything. Which I guess could be good to use their imagination some and you don't have to keep up with replacing batteries.

Caleb has collected these classic trains for sevearl years and is one his favorite toys which he can't get enough of, I have tried to get him as many as possible since he told me the names of the loveable cars. He loved the new cars especially Harold the helicopter.

Murdoch is a mighty engine with ten drive wheels. He is Sodor's largest and strongest engine (bigger than Gordon) with ten driving wheels. He was brought to the Island to help with the heavy workload and pull freight on the main line. As shy as he is strong, Murdoch can often be found seeking peace and quiet. The engine and tender are made of die-cast metal and the magnets can be used in both directions, unlike the wooden Thomas cars and engines. And therein lies the problem. All take along Thomas engines are NOT compatible with the popular Thomas wooden railway toys, meaning that this engine does not fit on the wooden track, and the wooden Thomas engines do not fit on track and playsets built for this James engine and his friends.
