Lionel Trains Polar Express Train Set - O Gauge Review

Lionel Trains Polar Express Train Set - O Gauge

Wow this was worth the hassle to find. We lucked out and got it at retail price and delivered before Christmas. This was my 6 yr old son's first "real" electric train. What a special train it is. The details are fantastic. Lionel out did themselves! The engine is sooo heavy and very well built. The passenger/observational cars were suprisingly light, but incredibly detailed, quite beautiful! Transformer is powerful, track easy to put together. The characters are to scale and he has placed in the train and they ride around sticking out the end of the cars and in the engine. Smoke stack works perfect. Everything is just great. I guess we have a train enthusiast now. He runs it every day... and is soooo proud of it. He is so careful with it and teaches all his friends all about it. Worth every penny.

My first On30 product and it's awesome. Highly detailed with good solid construction. I bought it for my Christmas Village layout, but I'm already in the process of building a model railroad layout. I would absolutely recommend this train set to anyone.

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Emily Review

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Emily
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If your child enjoys acting out the Thomas & Friends series, then they should know that Emily is one of the friendlier engines. She is an old-fashioned engine, with large inner wheels. She is the first female steam engine, apart from Lady, who only appeared in the Thomas & The Magic Railroad movie. She was given 2 green coaches after saving Oliver and Toad when they were stuck on the tracks. Before she had her coaches, she borrowed Annie and Clarabelle from Thomas, which made all the other engines sad.
Emily was just released last year in "Emily's New Coaches" and already, she has a major role, mainly because Thomas & Friends doesn't show female engines very often. I have recommended that Learning Curve sells Emily's coaches, because I don't think Thomas will approve of Emily always taking Annie & Clarabelle!

Toy Story 3 Train Vehicle Stunt - Woody Review

Toy Story 3 Train Vehicle Stunt - Woody

I bought this toy, and others like it, for my two boys, ages 5 and 6. They love them. They like to connect the different sets together and watch them knock stuff over. It is designed that you can use it alone or add other Toy Story stunt sets, so I bought several. It is alot of fun for them. My husband had to help them set it up at first. I don't think it would be great for younger children, however.

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Battery Powered Percy Review

Thomas And Friends Wooden Railway - Battery Powered Percy
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This metal battery operated Percy engine and his metal battery operated companions (Thomas, Lady, etc.) are for use with the wooden track. There are larger plastic battery operated engines that fit both the wooden track and the blue plastic track by Tomy.
This is a great product. Very well-constructed. Very durable. It can be switched on, go forward or backward, and it can be pushed manually--another reviewer complained that it could not be pushed, but it can be pushed.
Purchasing recommendation:
* Wait until appropriate age: Our son started with Thomas when he was 18 months old, but we did not buy any battery engines until he was 3. We wanted for him to use his imagination in pushing and pulling for a while. Now he sometimes sits back and just watches the battery engines, while at other times he pushes them.
* The metal engines are more durable: The metal engines cost more than the larger plastic battery-operated engines, but they are far more durable. They feel solid in the hand. They go both forward and backwards, while the plastic engines only go forward. They pull the wooden cars that your child may already have. They're just a better fit!

ERTL 1:64 Two Story House Review

ERTL 1:64 Two Story House
Average Reviews:

We partnered this house with our American Flyer train and a set of Model Power people. It is a quality plastic model, compariable to a Plasticville log cabin also on our layout. This house is S scale and the log cabin and people we have used are O scale. They sit very nice together. With our grandchildren's painting assistance (ages 5-12) it was a great project to work on. I didn't care for the sticker shutters, so I made my own from cedar shingles from a dollhouse supply that I had. I used vellium scrapbook paper behind the windows. I don't see using this as a toy. But it's a great model railroad feature.
