World Of Cars Barney Stormin Review

This is simply the best airplane toy my two sons (age 4 and 2) have had. They are plane-crazy and have so many other toy airplanes, but this is by far both their favorite. We're had it for two years now, and it's still going strong - no cracks breakages of any sort, and the prop still works every time. It goes everywhere with us and has become my youngest's security toy. It's utterly indestructible and in the current times when toys break so easily and the quality of toys is poor, this has been an absolute treasure toy. I'd recommend it to anyone for years of fun fun fun.

For the first time ever, the action of the Diney/Pixar animated hit Cars truly soars as BiPlane takes to the sky. Just wind him up and see how far he goes. Time will fly by as you have fun with this beloved character from a modern animated classic.

I did not receive the plane pictured - a Sky Champ plane with pull-back action spinning propeller. The plane looked the same, but no pullback stand or propeller mechanism. You can save yourself $4 and get the same type kit by InAir, but have some fun building it by getting the following:

I purchased this as a gift for my husband, as he is an avid John Deere collector. This gift was perfect! The bi-plane was a bit smaller than I anticipated, but other than that, this is a great addition to a John Deere collection.

Stearman PT-17 Review

I bought this little Stearman PT-17 model because my dad was flying in a real WWII Stearman PT-17 and I thought it would be a nice souvenir. The details of this plane are quite accurate! The yellow and blue colors, the markings (Stars on top, US Army on bottom) the prop, wheels, seats, etc are all accurate. Very neat, sturdy little plane with great educational value because of its accuracy to the real Stearman PT-17. The pilot/owner of the real Stearman my dad flew in said they are going to buy these little planes and hand them out as souvenirs to their customers after the flight!

SMITHSONIAN InAir E-Z Build - P51 Mustang Review

SMITHSONIAN InAir E-Z Build - P51 Mustang
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I picked this up for a 6-year old boy at the Andrew Air Force Base airshow. We were able to mostly assemble it sitting under a tree at the show, while waiting for the line for the buses to queue down. I say mostly because at one piece - part of the tail - was poorly cast and would not fit. The kit came with a small screw driver, so in theory no tools are needed. Once home, I was able to use a knife to make the one piece fit and later cut off a small piece of the landing gear so they better fold up into the wing. While the control surfaces do not move, the prop turns and the landing gear folds up and down. The instructions are drawings, there are no words. No painting or gluing was required.
But for that hassle, the boy plays and plays and plays with it. It has encouraged him to ask many questions about airplanes, how they work and how these planes were used. It has encouraged him to learn more about WWII and history. It has held up well under some pretty rough play.
Additionally, I love the look of the model. It just looks great and seems to be a very nice, for the price, scale model of the Mustang. It would certainly look good on a desk as well.
I would not hesitate to purchase it again.

InAir Sky Champs F-14 Jolly Roger Review

InAir Sky Champs F-14 Jolly Roger
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Having seen the pictured replica, and being a huge fan of both the F-14 Tomcat in all its forms and the Jolly Rogers squadron, I was hoping for something gorgeous to put on my computer desk. The price tag seemed almost too good to be true. What arrived was... well, it definitely wasn't what was shown, or what I thought I was ordering.
I've seen these cheaply made, badly-detailed planes selling in stores under different names for the better part of two decades. The only thing that changed with this version is that the basic tail markings and the angled stripe on the nose do fit the markings of the Jolly Rogers F-14s.
That's it for the good news, though. The detailing in the paint and landing gear is completely absent on this version: The only wing marking is a single red stripe down the length of the wing that clashes with the squadron markings, and the tailplanes are the same gray as the body, not white. The white stripe along the rear edges of the wings is also missing. The cockpit canopy is even blacked out in the rear half, making the plane look like a single-seat aircraft (which the F-14 never has been). The landing gear looks nothing like the picture, being too large and clunky, and the weapons mounts and nose sensor pod are entirely absent.
This is probably fun for someone somewhere, but it's definitely not for anyone looking for a quality model of the F-14, to say nothing of an insult to both the F-14 and the Jolly Rogers. Worse yet, the image has probably sucked in other buyers thinking they're getting a drool-worthy model plane with an authentic paint scheme and oodles of detail. I'm definitely returning this at first opportunity.

InAir Sky Champs YF-22 Lightning Review

InAir Sky Champs YF-22 Lightning

I got this as a gift for my little brother, and he loves it. It is plastic, lightweight, so not all that durable, but for the price it is beautiful. Last year I got the EZ-Build F-16 and building it was a nightmare (by now that plane isn't built as the parts don't fit together very well). Sky Champs comes already built, however, so I don't foresee any problems if he takes care of it. The stand was a little loose, so he displays it without the stand, but overall, I am satisfied.

I've been trying to find a P51 Mustang and Spitfire for my three year old after he saw them at an air show. I've been through many plastic models whose wheels and props broke within a few minutes of play resulting in a lot of tears. These diecast metal models look great plus landing gear and propellor are designed to withstand a lot of abuse. Completely satisfied with the products and relieved to have found them.

Unimax Forces of Valor 1:72nd Scale U.S. P-51D Mustang Review

Unimax Forces of Valor 1:72nd Scale U.S. P-51D Mustang
Average Reviews:

My wife picked up one for my four-year-old grandson for Christmas. He loves it and so do I. He knows the P51 from History Channel's Dogfights.BTW, the Amazon site lists the same model for $24.95 and $65.00 (today) depending on vendor. Shop carefully. It is actually better than it looks on the website.
I doubt that anything is durable enough for a four year old, but the construction is quite good, the parts fit nicely, the landing gear retract (with some effort and touch required on the tail gear.) For an adult, it would last a lifetime. He hasn't broken it yet and he hasn't put it down.
My grandson's favorite plane is the Bf (Me)- 109. (They tend to have the most daring and skilled pilots.) I'll have to consider getting a Unimax copy for his birthday.
UPDATE: Two months later, he's turned five, got the Bf-109 for his birthday (also fantastic!) and still hasn't damaged the P51! And he still loves it.

InAir WWII Planes 6-pc Set with Aircraft ID Guide - Assortment 2 Review

My boys love (6 & 8) WWII airplanes to play with. These come in sets of six different WWII planes that are fairly durable and the perfect size. The propellers and other small parts tend to break off. But given how rough the boys play with them (crashes, etc.), it's hard to imagine any toy that could keep its small parts. The planes are painted with authentic detail and provide hours of entertainment.

InAir E-Z Build Model Kit - Sopwith Camel F.1 Review

InAir E-Z Build Model Kit - Sopwith Camel F.1
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
This model kit is great for young collectors, not top notch, but it is a very neat kit. The diagram of how to build it is black in white so you might have some trouble reading it but it is readable. The pieces have some trouble snapping together, but the screws are very well made and fit in there whole well. Also, the plane has some trouble balancing on the stand but don't be worried when it rocks side-to-side a bit because it is just find it's comfortable position. If you are wondering how the pieces stick together there are 11 screws, and grooves where all the pieces are supposed to fit. There is no glue so no mess will be created. The kit comes with all the supplies you need, like screwdriver, screws and any thing else you need to construct it. In all a rate this about a 4 1/2 stars.

Even though a decent value for the money (detail, size), be prepared to "ad-lib" it a bit. Instructions are many times inaccurate and wrong. Put the pieces together first before glueing! Also be prepared to trim a little extra plastic off! But once those things are accomplished, these are decent looking planes.

InAir E-Z Build Model Kit - F-15 Eagle Review

InAir E-Z Build Model Kit - F-15 Eagle
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I make these InAir E-Z Aircraft Model Kits for my grandson. He enjoys playing with them, and these kit planes can take 5-year-old punishment. After you make a couple, you can do others in 15 to 30 minutes. And there are many different kits to choose from.
These InAir Model Kits are also educational. My grandson looks over my shoulder and ask what the various parts do. I also use the building time to tell him about the war in which the real aircraft was used.
It also helps to also purchase the enemy aircraft model, because my little guy wants to know who's the bad guy.
They are easy to put together and someone will have a lot of fun with it.

1/63 Die-Cast Fokker DR-1, Red Baron Review

1/63 Die-Cast Fokker DR-1, Red Baron
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a new (almost) eight year old son, and he is obsessed with the Red Baron. Unfortunately, the one thing he didn't have was a plane of the Red Baron's, so I decided to order this for him. To say he was excited to receive it, would be an understatement; however, the quality of this toy is HORRIBLE! It was already starting to fall apart when we received it. As soon as he opened it, we found that the wheels had fallen off and needed to be glued back on. Next, the wings started to fall off, so we had to reglue them, but it still kept falling apart. Sadly, there are very few Red Baron planes out there, and most are either kits that need to be put together or are well over [...] and meant for adults to display. He has many die-cast planes that we have had no issues, so I expect a die-cast plane to hold up well. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone, not even an adult.
